Network Learning

All heads in Sheffield are part of the city’s community of headteachers, creating a strong network of professional colleagues.

This network is supported by an active programme of CPD events which runs throughout the year, and includes:

Director’s Seminars 
These are termly seminars for all headteachers. They are hosted by the Executive Director of Children’s Services, Sonia Sharp, usually with a high-profile keynote speaker, and are intended to stimulate debate and cutting-edge thinking. Speakers for 2009/2010 include Sir Tim Brighouse and Mick Waters.

Annual Primary Headteachers Conference
This is a residential event for all heads. The theme for the 2009/2010 conference is: ‘Towards the New Curriculum in light of the Rose Review’.

Themed Learning and Networking events
The programme for 2009/2010 includes:

-       Supporting heads in challenging situations

-       The sharing of information – accessing Sheffield data

-       Financial management

-       Attendance, access and inclusion

-       Working with Governors

-       Managing performance and capability
